STEPP is a need-based program, established by Einstein Rising, in collaboration with OVO Entrepreneurs for Entrepreneurs, that purposely aims at getting youths ready for work, exposed to new skills and different life contexts as they support the growth of Green Enterprises.

Eligibility Criteria for Host Company
To collaborate with us as a host company, ensure alignment with our values, commitment to mentorship, and a dynamic work environment.
- Must be fully incorporated by authority to operate in the specific country
- Must be a green enterprise in the targeted sectors
Should have permeable capacity for new employees. Activities should be designed with the participant’s career level, field of study, and interests in mind
Ability to provide continuous on-site supervision of participants and their project activities and provide feedback to facilitate the participant’s development.
Eligibility Criteria for Interns & Volunteers
Interns and volunteers must demonstrate enthusiasm, a commitment to learning, and alignment with our organization’s values for eligibility.
Participants should be enrolled in an accredited tertiary institution as a student or recent graduate
Should be fully Commitment to the entire duration of the Program
All participants must own a valid passport and/or National Identification card
Should be seeking work within the targeted sectors

In the beginning of the year, we initiated the Agrimulimi project in Uganda, starting with a blank canvas. Collaborating with the local team, we developed a strategy for practical testing of our fresh tomato solution, leading to satisfying results. The hospitality at Einstein Rising and throughout Uganda exceeded our expectations. Despite initial concerns about communication, everything went smoothly. Our stay at STEPP Residences, particularly with Pius, was also enjoyable.
The team's welcoming and supportive nature during the internship has been remarkable. Despite their heavy workload, they are caring and attentive. The primary tasks involved quantifying losses in the tomato value chain and devising solutions for issues across various phases of the cold chain. Our major contributions included experimental setups, practical testing, and seeking solutions for market information gathering. We hope our efforts will be implemented in the future.
Assigned to create a logistics plan for transporting produce from field to market, we explored cold truck options and field practices. Facing a truck issue, we united like a family, pushing it together. This project has influenced my life goals, steering me towards humanitarian work, cross-cultural experiences, and extensive travel. The supportive atmosphere at STEPP and Einstein Rising made it feel like home, providing security and privacy. I am grateful and would highly recommend such cross-cultural experiences—it opens doors and enlightens in unexpected ways. Just take the leap and do it!
The team in Uganda provided exceptional support, guiding us in unfamiliar areas and enhancing our understanding of the local market. The inspiring and collaborative learning environment, coupled with strong work ethic, created a friendly and hospitable atmosphere. I highly recommend this internship as it not only fostered personal growth but also provided valuable insights into work life. Collaborating with individuals from diverse fields increased my understanding, motivation, and experience in the working field. It's a rewarding opportunity for anyone seeking professional and personal development.
